The Mohave County Drag Racing Association (MCDRA) is an independent, unsanctioned motorsports organization bringing racers, vehicle enthusiasts, businesses, families, and spectators together through racing, automotive shows, and community events in Lake Havasu City, Mohave County, Arizona, and the surrounding region.
Led by longtime racing enthusiast John Yolla, MCDRA grew from a genuine love of racing and the people who make the motorsports community what it is.
MCDRA creates opportunities for enthusiasts to bring out their rides, connect with fellow gearheads, participate in events, and share their passion with the community.
From drag cars and hot rods to classic vehicles, custom builds, motorcycles, performance boats, and purpose-built race machines, MCDRA welcomes the many different sides of the motorsports world.
Throughout the year, the organization helps bring racers and enthusiasts together through racing events, automotive gatherings, community events, and special events throughout the region.
MCDRA events have included Horsepower by the Lake, night racing at Chuckwalla, and community events such as AutoZone Customer Appreciation Day in Lake Havasu City.
As new opportunities arise, MCDRA continues creating places for racers, builders, businesses, families, and enthusiasts to meet and share their passion.
The vehicles may be what bring people through the gates, but the community is what keeps them coming back.
MCDRA is supported by racers, builders, families, businesses, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and fans who share a common passion for motorsports.
It's about the hours spent building a car.
The preparation before race day.
The conversations in the pits.
The businesses that support local events.
The families who come out to watch.
And the people who simply appreciate a great machine.
John Yolla is the longtime racing enthusiast behind MCDRA and a driving force behind the organization's commitment to bringing racers and motorsports enthusiasts together.
His passion for racing and the motorsports community helped shape MCDRA into an organization focused not only on racing, but on creating opportunities for people to connect through the sport.
Founder biography, racing history, vehicles, milestones, and personal story to be added once provided and approved by John.
Racing is more than a sport

Different machines.
Different people.
One community.
